- 2023 Greenland and Canadian Arctic Expedition Cruise – Cruise Summary
Our visit to Upernavik on this day was not pre-planned. The ship crossed Baffin Bay early in order to avoid rough seas, so we arrived here without much prior notification. The ship had tried to contact the man with the keys to the museum, but he must have been out fishing or hunting as he did not return phone calls and emails. That meant that we had to enjoy the walk around the city without entry to the museum. It was a pretty wet and dreary day, so we made the best of it, walking around historic sites and saying hello to the locals.
