2023 Greenland and Canadian Arctic Expedition Cruise – Qeqertarsuaq, Greenland

Post 15 of 22

Tucked into a little corner of Disko Island, Qeqertarsuaq is a little village that was founded as a whaling station back in 1773. All around the town we saw colorful buildings, Greenlandic Dogs, and grounded icebergs. This town also had a really good museums, but they asked that no pictures be taken inside the museum.

In the afternoon, our Silversea Expedition, Entertainment, and Food and Beverage team treated us to a special event, Champagne and Chocolate on the rocks. We did a dry landing on the rocks just outside of town where we were greeted by a glass of champagne and delicious chocolates. Daniel, our gregarious entertainment director even joined us ashore for he event. The staff graciously took pictures and made the experience a delightful event where we could take in the beautiful scenery and enjoy the moment.
