2023 Svalbard in Depth Cruise – Day 8 Nordaustlandet

Another day of scenic sailing along the coast of ice covered Nordaustlandet to look for polar bears on this ice. This day did not disappoint as we found a bear happily eating his catch on the sea ice. Because he was so occupied with his meal, he paid little attention to our ship, which our captain had carefully positioned up wind so as not to disturb him too much.
