2023 Svalbard in Depth Cruise – Day 1 Longyearbyen Tour and Boarding Ship

We actually had about one an a half days in Longyearbyen, but Aurora Expeditions hosted us on the embarkation day. These first few pictures are actually outside our hotel at about 10:30 at night, yes 10:30 at night on the arrival day. Aurora Expeditions includes a pre-night stay in a Longyearbyen hotel. We were at the slightly rustic, but clean and charming Radisson Blue. They have a taxidermic polar bear in the lobby that really helps guest appreciate how massive and powerful these animals are.
