This was our second visit to Cartagena Spain, having first visited in 2009, also on a Transatlantic cruise. We explored the main shopping area on the first trip, but this time we skipped the shopping (mostly) and visited a few more of the historic sites.

I also made my way to the park on the hill which is part of the Cerro del Molinete Archaeological Park. Visiting the hill was free, though visiting the more extensive archeological finds below, has an admission charge. There area several ruins of temples up on the hill as well as fortifications that date back to many years of military battles in the area. From that vista, many of the other important buildings in Cartagena can be viewed.
