On our disembarkation day from the cruise ship, we had booked a private tour for the 5 folks in our group to show us around Buenos Aires and see all parts of the city. It is a big city, so it seemed like it went on for miles. Visitors really need a full day tour with airport drop off post cruise in Buenos Aires because the flights back the USA are all evening flights, and guests would not be able to check in for your flights until 3 hours before departure if they went straight to the airport.

We visited several market places, checked out La Boca, the birthplace of Tango, toured the upscale and not so upscale neighborhoods and even toured the famous Recoleta Cemetery where all wealthy of Buenos Aires remember their dead in some of the finest mausoleums you will ever see. Eva Peron is also enshrined in Recoleta.

We went to the Play Major to see the Casa Rosado, Cathedral and a few federal buildings. We really got a good feel for the town, and it was the perfect way to spend out day before being dropped at the airport for our late evening overnight flights back to the USA.
