Engelharszell ended up being our alternate disembarkation location. The river was a little too low for us to make it up to Deggendorf, Germany. Keep this in mind if you are planning your own transfers pre or post cruise. You will need to be able to cancel or re-arrange your private transfers at the last minute should something like this occur on your own river cruise. We sailed to this port after Passau and docked for the night. Disembarkation was actually very easy as you simply put out your suit cases in the morning and the crew brings them ashore with you when you identify them in the lobby. Our transfer was about 90 minutes to the Munich airport.
