Our final stop before our disembarkation port along the tour was in the lovely city of Passau, Germany. This town has been subject to flooding over the centuries as it is located at the confluence of three rivers: The Danube, The Inn and The Ilz. We saw the high point of the flooding in 2013, but then also enjoyed a wonderful walking tour where we learned the history of the town.

At the heart of the city are three important buildings: the Rathaus, St. Stephan’s Cathedral, and the Imperial Palace. St. Stephan’s Cathedral boasts one of the largest pipe organs in the world, with most of them being hidden in the walls and ceilings. All very beautiful. A cute little gift shop know as the “Dachshund Museum” sells anything and everything Dachshund related. We enjoyed the city tour and then a walk to the park at the confluence of the rivers.
