It had been about 40 years since I had visited Grenada, so it was a wonderful treat to try to jog my memory and find familiar sights. In those 4 years, ship sizes have more than doubled, so the town built a new dock to accommodate the larger ships, like our Celebrity ship. This meant we docked on the opposite side of the hill that we had docked at in 1978.

However, once I walked up to the fortress in town, I was able to spot the bay below where we had docked as well as see the new dock where we were currently docked. Grenada is known as the Spice Island, so I purchased a few spice set gifts to give to family back home. We were also docked next to one of the new Viking Ocean cruise ships. It gave me an opportunity to check out the exterior of the ship and note the smaller size of these more intimate luxury ships.
