Grand Turk is a great destination for guests who want to have a full-on beach and shopping experience without the expense of an excursion. Guests can simply walk off the ship where they will find a variety of clothing, jewelry and duty-free store as well as several beach from bars and restaurants. If you are a Jimmy Buffet fan, there is even a Margaritaville restaurant and bar. Beach chairs are plentiful and as far as I could tell, available for free. There was plenty of shade for those who don’t want a lot of sun, and refreshing beverages for those who want to relax on the beach. The waters were beautiful. This area was also near where the Mercury astronauts had several of their splashdowns. There is a nice interoperative exhibit that pays homage to their early NASA missions. If you want to explore more, there are snorkel boats and off-site resort day experiences available for booking through Holland America, or other lines that visit the island.
