Norwegian is known for its amazing specialty dining, and thanks to the many cruise line reps who treated us to dinner on several nights, we got to enjoy many of the specialty dining venues.

Our first night of the cruise, we joined Dondra of Celebrity Cruises for Dinner at Onda by Scarbetta for some delicious Italian food and some great wine. This was a fabulous meal with fresh homemade pasta, veal chops and my favorite filet mignon.

Next up was dinner with the rep from Viking at Le Bistro French restaurant. We talked about Viking River and Ocean over a wonderful multi-course French meal including Escargot, French Onion Soup, Chops and Lobster. Truly this was a luxury fine dining experience.

Next up was the teppanyaki restaurant where we dining with the representative from Seabourn, one of our favorite luxury lines, and Alan Fine from Insider Travel Report, an online travel industry magazine. The teppanyaki food was very good, and always one of my favorite dining experiences with dinner and a great show from our energetic and funny chef. Turns out that Alan and I have a mutual friend who used to work with Alan at DreamWorks IT department and is also co-host of some of our best wine cruises. We took a picture together to send to him.

Next up was our one dinner in the included evening fine dining venue, the Manhattan Room. We enjoyed the meal with our Connie and and Michael who are also CruiseOne/Dream Vacations franchise owners. The meal was good, but not over the top good like what we enjoyed in the specialty restaurants. Still if you are on a budget, this is a good included dining options. There are two other smaller venues called Taste and Savor that feature the same menu.

Texas BBQ and Country Music on a Cruise Ship? Well Norwegian did an excellent job. We enjoyed the meal so much with our friend Audrey from Silversea Cruises, that we forgot to take pictures before we dug in. They also had a live country band that played alot of our favorites. This venue can also be enjoyed as a live music venue without the meal with full bar service, seating and dancing for those who are not dining.

In fact, we liked this venue so much that we were back the next night for dinner because the band was playing their George Strait set right during dinner time. I couldn’t help but sing along.

On the last night of the cruise, on a whim, we decided to see if we could get into Cagney’s Steakhouse. We were so happy they had a spot for us as it was delicious. Caesar Salad, and fine steaks, were a real treat for our last night onboard.

We enjoyed lunch a couple of times at the Local Bar and Grill which is table service for pub style favorites like wings and burgers. Other dining venues onboard included a few more specialty restaurants that we were not able to find time to squeeze in and they included Ocean Blue where seafood is the star attractions, Food Republic which features fusion dishes from around the world, Los Lobos gourmet Mexican food, and American diner, featuring diner classics.

The Garden Café served up a variety of buffet favorites for Breakfast and Lunch.
