Norwegian Joy may be one of the prettiest ships I have sailed on. As an active travel agent, I was invited to attend a one night preview cruise on the ship before its deployment in the US. It has previously been serving the Asian market, but with the huge success of the Norwegian Bliss in Alaska and the Caribbean, Norwegian decided to move the Joy to the US market.
With its new additions and make-overs, I was thrilled to be able to check out the ship. If you like the over the top amenities of large ship cruising, this is the perfect ship for you and your family. Some of these amenities have cover charges: go carts, some dining venues, laser tag and virtual arcade. Some are included in the price of your cruise: production show Footloose, Beatles themed bar with cover band, some dining venues, and water slides.
This ship is at the top of the contemporary cruise niche and may even spill over into premium niche, plus it has the luxury Haven category cabins.
