The Iceland and Ireland cruise included winemaker hosted wine appreciation events hosted onboard the ship by our Wine Cruise Partners Karyl and Kevin Wilhelm of the Wilhelm Family Vineyards from Sonoita, Arizona. Celebrity offers this partnership experience with travel agencies like my CruiseOne agency and wineries like Wilhelm Family Vineyards. The program allows the winery to ship their wine to the ship for an onboard tasting experience. The program has proved to be an all around win for everyone in the partnership. As the travel agency, I am able to offer discounted group rates and the wine program that is only available to guests in my group. My winemakers get to travel with and build relationships with their most loyal clients plus promote their brand. Our guests enjoy the small group travel experience at a discounted price, the exclusive wine education program and VIP status on board the ship.
For this cruise, our experience included a meet and greet party the first night of the cruise, two seated wine tasting events held in the beautiful Blu’ Restaurant and a 4 course food and wine paring lunch in the Tuscan Grill. We also had a tour of the wine cellar and operations for our group, plus a private galley tour for our group.
This was our 5th annual Wine Lovers Cruise with Wilhelm Family Vineyards and our numbers have grown every year. We are partnering with them again in January of 2022 for a Wine Lovers Winemaker Hosted cruise to Antarctica and South America from Buenos Aires.
