Costa Cruises to Deploy Costa Favolosa to Middle East in 2011

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (Oct. 19, 2011) — At the opening session of the
Seatrade Middle East Cruise Convention today in Dubai, United Arab
Emirates, Costa Cruises President Gianni Onorato announced the
company will deploy the 3,800-passenger Costa Favolosa in the Middle
East for the 2011-12 season.

In 2006 Costa Cruises was the first cruise company to operate
seasonally in the Middle East, and by deploying its newest flagship
there, Costa solidifies its leadership role in the U.A.E. market.
“Costa Favolosa will be the largest and most advanced ship ever
deployed in the region,” said Onorato during the opening plenary
session of Seatrade Middle East. “She will offer our guests the truly
unique opportunity to visit the most intriguing destinations in the
U.A.E. and Oman on board an Italian cruise ship providing superb
comfort, exclusive services and state-of-the-art, high-tech

Costa Favolosa will make 58 port calls in the U.A.E. during winter
2011-12, and expects approximately 233,000 passenger movements.
From Dec. 16, 2011, through April 6, 2012, Costa Favolosa will sail the
exotic seas of the Arabian Gulf on the “Jewels of the Emirates”
itinerary. The seven-night cruises start with two days at Dubai, oneday
calls at Muscat, Oman; Fujairah and Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., and
Khasab, Oman, and end with an overnight stay at Dubai.

Costa Favolosa
At 114,500 gross tons and accommodating 3,800 guests, Costa
Favolosa is the largest cruise ship flying the Italian flag. Facilities
include 1,508 cabins, 103 with direct access to the spa, 594 with
private balcony, 56 balcony suites and 12 suites with direct access to
the spa; five restaurants, including reservation-only Club Favolosa and
Samsara Restaurant; 13 bars; five Jacuzzis and four pools, children’s
pool and water slide; 19,700-square-foot, two-level Samsara Spa;
multipurpose sports court, pool deck with retractable glass roof and
giant screen; 4D Cinema; three-level theater, casino and disco; Grand
Prix Simulator, Golf Simulator and PlayStation World Area.
For more than 60 years Costa Cruises’ ships have sailed worldwide,

ships visit 250 destinations throughout the Mediterranean, Northern Europe,
the Baltic, Caribbean, South America, United Arab Emirates, Far East and

Fincantieri for delivery in 2012 and 2014.
