We enjoyed the blue mussels of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown.
PEI is the home Lucy Montgomery the author of Anne of Green Gables. You can visit the farm that is the home of Anne and the woods she played in.
It is beautiful in the fall. There was a fall farm festival in town with lots of flowers and local produce grown in the red soil of the island.
We wandered the streets and explored the churches and government buildings and checked out the few stores open on Sunday. We found a restaurant open to have lunch, mussels. As we wound our way back to the ship we had to try some ice cream from COWS it was mooliscious. There was a breast cancer walk and run beginning in the park at the port thousands of people walking and running for the cause even dogs with pink leis, sweaters and ribbons. Quite an impressive sight as the survivors took the stage and sang and danced to the entertainment.
Tonight we returned to the Tamarind, Pan Asian, to have a meal from the menu. We enjoyed green papaya salad, shrimp tempura, red curry chicken, szechuan shrimp, Tamarind chocolate mousse with a bittersweet chocolate Buddha, mango mousse and a giant fortune cookie filled with chocolate panache. The Indonesian women are wonderful hostesses. We had to walk off dinner.
The Main Stage the showroom on the ship is carpeted with shades of gold with burgundy and red accents the seats are red leather with walnut trim and brass tacks. Each seat has a built in beverage holder in the arms, very comfortable. The entertainment tonight was outstanding a British singer and piano player who mixed jazz, classical and pop. She kept us swinging throughout the program.
Tomorrow: Sydney, Nova Scotia.
