Miami, Sept 2: When she debuts in January 2011, Oceania Cruises’ 1,250-guest Marina will feature state-of-the-art recreational offerings designed to appeal to today’s baby boomers and active seniors.

“We excel at providing the finest cuisine, comfort and service at sea,” stated Bob Binder, Oceania Cruises’ president. “Our guests like to strike a balance between fine dining, fascinating ports, health and fitness and put these facilities at the top of their wish lists. Marina has been built with their needs and wants in mind.”

Oceania Cruises’ new Marina is being constructed with a variety of innovative options for keeping fit. High atop the ship guests can enjoy a golf-putting course offering a combined 18 holes of play. Golfers can tweak their swing in caged driving ranges, which flank a full-size, enclosed paddle-tennis court that is illuminated for nighttime play. The Portside Green will be home to croquet and bocce tournaments, while a shuffleboard court is situated starboard. A fitness track wraps the Marina funnel, affording panoramic views and refreshing breezes when walking or jogging.

The fitness center onboard Marina is part of the Canyon Ranch SpaClub® and will feature a full circuit of Technogym strength-training machines, cardiovascular equipment with heart-rate monitoring and individual LCD TV screens, and a free-weight area. The SpaClub also offers a designated area for abdominals and stretching, as well as group and private yoga, aerobics, Pilates, spinning and tai chi classes.

The heart of the ship’s recreational offerings is without question the stunning swimming pool which also features two adjoining whirlpool spas. The Patio and Sanctuary are shaded on-deck lounges with walls of glass overlooking the sea and pool deck. Plush seating areas and Balinese day beds create chic, serene environ for relaxation.

Guests in Marina’s highest-category accommodations–Owner’s and Vista suites–enjoy the luxury of en suite fitness rooms so they never have to leave their opulent surroundings.
