Miami – Mar 23, 2009 — Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is the featured cruise line in CNBC’s new one-hour documentary which takes an in-depth look at the cruise industry hosted by travel guru Peter Greenberg. The documentary, titled “Cruise Inc: Big Money on the High Seas,” premieres on Tuesday, March 24 at 9 p.m., 10 p.m., and 1 a.m. and repeats on Sunday, March 29 at 10 p.m.

Norwegian Cruise Line granted Greenberg and CNBC exclusive behind-the-scenes access for this feature program which was filmed on one of the company’s newest and largest Freestyle Cruising ships, Norwegian Pearl, last November. The documentary follows the officers and crew of Norwegian Pearl as they embark and disembark more than 2,400 guests within hours; on load luggage and food and beverage provisions; create daily programming around the ship; prepare and serve more than 12,000 meals a day across the ship’s 11 on-board restaurants; and wash and fold more than 10,000 towels, sheets, napkins and table cloths daily. In addition, CNBC goes behind the scenes to show viewers Norwegian’s stringent safety, security and environmental standards.

“This exciting CNBC cruise documentary featuring Norwegian will help to elevate awareness not only of our unique Freestyle Cruising product, but of the cruise industry overall,” said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line’s chief executive officer. “Viewers will see the incredible value proposition that cruising offers and see firsthand how Norwegian is revolutionizing the business in an effort to broaden its appeal to the more than 80 percent of the traveling public who have yet to experience a cruise vacation.”

Norwegian Pearl features all the elements of NCL’s dynamic Freestyle Cruising including 11 restaurants; two pools; six whirlpools; a four-lane ten-pin bowling alley; rock climbing wall; casino; spa; versatile, family-friendly accommodations; and NCL’s sizzling style of accommodations – Courtyard Villas – which along with the ship’s two Garden Villas make up the biggest, most luxurious and innovative suite complex at sea.

Throughout the hour-long show, CNBC follows numerous Norwegian Pearl guests including a New Jersey family of four on their eighth Norwegian cruise; a newlywed couple from Florida on their first Norwegian cruise; and a married couple from Canada who sailed in one of the ship’s palatial Garden Villas.
