MSC Cruises is delighted to announce a further double guarantee of quality and food safety with regard to its offering in the cruise market. The MSC Group’s catering subsidiary, MSC Ital-catering, has earned independent certification according to international standards ISO 22000 for Food Safety Management and ISO 9001 for Quality Management.
With this latest significant achievement, MSC Cruises now boasts a comprehensive set of food safety and quality management certifications, covering the entire cycle of food provision to guests on its cruise ships, including both onshore and onboard elements.
This significant achievement represents official recognition of the major reorganization of MSC Ital-catering’s internal structure and procedures, undertaken with the objective of ensuring the highest possible standards and delivering continuous improvements.
As part of the certification process, food preparation procedures have been improved and standardized, potential hazards have been analyzed and a policy of ongoing food safety training for both land-based and sea-based personnel has been established.
Over 3000 recipes have been recorded in a central system, standardized and analyzed for food safety issues, allergies and intolerances.
In addition, all external suppliers are required to undergo audits to ensure that the same high standards of food safety and quality are satisfied throughout the food provision process.
