This beautiful new ship, the largest ever commissioned by a European ship owner, will represent a veritable floating microcosm, with ample space dedicated to wellness.
The AUREA SPA will be an authentic Balinese wellness center offering innovative treatments. Located on deck 14, it will occupy 17,384 square feet divided into specific areas, including the Thalassotherapy Room, Thermal Area, Gymnasium and Relaxation Area. Each area has been designed to offer guests the best in wellbeing care all in a soothing setting in which guests are surrounded by precious mosaics in tones of bronze and gold, ornamental plants and scents of perfumed essential oils.
The Thalassotherapy Room will have three ample treatment rooms, all facing the sea. It is in this area that the Balinese massages – the signature treatments of the AUREA SPA â€“ will take place. The huge choice of treatments will include reflexology, lava stones and infrared massage, cranial massage, shiatsu as well as special relaxing treatments to deal with stress â€“ all carried out by experts from the island of Bali.
The Thalassotherapy Room will also house the latest generation of Q-Age therapies, offering sauna, vapor and infrared, thalassotherapy, vichy shower – all the treatments needed to balance the bodyâ€™s energy. The vast array of treatment benefit connected to Q-AGE range from thalassotherapy to deeply purify the skin, sauna and steam to re-establish the skinâ€™s elasticity, and infrared sauna to relieve fatigue and tension as well as Vichy shower for lymphatic drainage, vibromassage to stimulate circulation, and aromatherapy and hydro massage.

MSC Fantasia will be christened in Naples on Dec. 18, by the companyâ€™s Godmother, Sophia Loren. For the winter season 2008/2009, MSC Fantasia will be based out of the port of Genoa and will offer two exciting holiday itineraries. The first will be the Christmas cruise, which departs Dec. 20 on an 8-night cruise that visits Greece and Egypt. A New Year’s Eve cruise departs Dec. 28 on an 8-night sailing that calls into Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar.
Beginning on Jan. 5, 2009 and running through Feb. 18, 2009, MSC Fantasia will sail 11-night cruises, from Genoa, Barcelona and Civitavecchia, to discover the treasures of Gibraltar, Madeira and the Canary Islands. The ship will sail 7-night Western Mediterranean itineraries March 1 through Oct. 17, 2009 from Genoa and Barcelona.
