We are looking at booking tours with caribbeanshoretours.com Caribbean Shore Tours – Island Marketing Ltd has anyone used them?  They have tours all oer the Caribbean and the prices look great.  They have Zipline and Cave Tubing in Belize for $99!  Best I've seen.  In Cayman we are looking at the Buccaneer Catamaran to stingray city and its only $39.  I would love some feedback on people who have used them.  They also have Nachi Cocom beach break in Cozumel that looks incredible.

Thanks

I have read several positive reviews about Island Marketing Ltd and they could be a  good choice if you don't want to use the cruise ships own excursions.

I suggest anyone interested do a google for " Island Marketing Ltd reviews." or similar.

If you choose to go on an independent excursion make sure that you get back to the ship well before the time of departure as the ship will not wait for you if you are late.

We did the cave tubing in Belize in fall 2009 and had a blast.  We were on our 25th anniversary cruise and really enjoyed this.  The guide gave us alot of time in the caves and explained what we were seeing.  We went thru as 2 tubes compared to other groups were all were strung together and the guides did most of the work paddeling.  They have an excellent reputation for getting back to the ship with plenty of time – we shopped near the dock before reboarding the ship.  Have a great time.

I have used Island Marketing on two different occasions and we will use them again.

First was our cruise to Cozumel, Belize and Grand Cayman. I compared the prices on Carnival to the prices Island Marketing has, and every tour was cheaper. There were people i chatted with when we were at the cave tubing tour in Belize who were from my ship. They were at the exact same tour as me, but paid a lot more. We couldn't understand why the ship gets away with charging so much money for the same tour. If they offered something different, then it would make sense, but not for the same tour.

In Cozumel we did the beach at Nachi Cocom. Great place, food and drinks. It was exactly what we were hoping for.

Grand Cayman we did Stingray city on a sailing catamaran, totally awesome. I have a picture from that day as my screensaver on my computer.

We just went on a NCL Pride of America cruise in Hawaii and used Island Marketing again. Great prices, excellent customer service and they now have a Live Help so you can chat with someone before you book your tours to get advice.

In what other ports does Island Marketing have tours?

We booked Lamanai ruins tour through Island Marketing, and I would NOT use them again.  We had a large group of 15 and booked as a private tour, which they confirmed.  When we paid our final fee upon arrival, I again confimed that we had booked a private group tour.  There was nothing private about it.  We also requested an LDS guide, because their website mentioned that this was an option, and we thought that would be an interesting perspective. Again I confirmed this before we paid the balance of our final payment.  I was told that the LDS "would meet us later".  We did not end up with an LDS guide.  I mention this not because that would be an option that others would care to have, but merely to point out that they said they would accomodate our requests, even though knew upon our arrival that they could not.

On the truck ride back to the ship, the truck broke down, and they had to call for another, which took about 45 minutes to arrive.  We were worried that we would miss our ship. This is a tour that takes about 6 hours, with no delays.  About an hour and 15 bus ride both ways, and a 25 mile boat ride both ways.  Be sure you have ample time in the event of unforeseen delays.

Along the river, no widelife of any kind were spotted, but this is a fast boat ride, two 150 johnson motors at full throttle, so not really a sight-seeing type of adventure from the river.

The ruins were really cool to look at, but not much historical context provided by the guide.  This trip was ok, but not what they made us think it was.
