We are spending three days in Barcelona prior to our embarkation. We will be doing all self guided tours there during that time. We have found many, many things in Barcelona that are in walking distance or a short inexpensive cab ride from the pier. Barcelona has a hop-on hop-off that will also get you around town.

I did all my planning from a few websites that I'll link up for your below and a DK guilde book “Barcelona & Catalonia” that I purchased from Amazon, that book is also on the shelf at most Barnes an Noble.

Barcelona Tourist Guide

Viator - An Independent Tour Booking Company

World Taxi Meter: Once you've figured out where you want to go you can calculate your cab fare. You'll know what your fare should be and be able to make sure the driver isn't ripping you off.

In Barcelona, there is plenty to do without booking a ship's excursion. There are several museums/attraction is walking distance of the port area including their world class aquarium and the Maritime Museum in the sight of a medieval shipyard. The DK guide book runs about $20 list price. I like it because it has lots of pictures and graphics. I can look at a a picture and pretty much decided if I want to see something or not.
