I have read about the Windjammer Barefoot Cruises and they sounded fantastic until we read about all of their financial problems and many cancelled sailings. Does anyone have a suggestion of a company that does something similar? We would like to try cruising again, but on a much smaller scale than the big liners. Travelling slowly to smaller islands and visiting with the locals is a bit more our speed this time around.
Well there is probably a big gap that will be filled by others over the next couple of years. The ships will have to comply with the Safety at Sea codes (Less wood to burn, ect)
It seems that right now its mostly charters or the quite expensive lines, but if there is enough demand, someone will create something very close to Windjammer to fill the void.
