Phoning home on a cruise can be very expensive. If you use your cabin phone you will be charge the ship's “Ship to Shore” rate which can be as much as $12 per minute. If your cell phone provider has established service on Princess, that can be a little cheaper at around $3 per minute. In port you can use your calling card at public phones. The international calling card would work there and be the cheapest.
I would suggest that you call Princess directly and find out exactly what their rates are and which cellular providers work on their ships. I did a quick look on their website and their wasn't much information regarding phone service. Be sure to let us know what they say as I'm sure many of our readers have the same question
