Cunard QM2 dress code for 2 year old boy Ask A Question Forum

My parents are very nicely taking the whole family on a Cunard transatlantic cruise in a month or so and I just wanted to double check on the dress code for my son. Â He is the only child traveling with us and we were planning on taking him to at least a couple of dinners in the main dining room (probably not the black tie though). Â He is 2 years old. Should I buy him a jacket or would it be appropriate for him to wear a button down shirt with a sweater vest and nice trousers? Â To be honest I'm not sure where to find something like a jacket for him and most of the more formal wear for boys that I have found seems to be of the shirt/sweater vest/trousers variety. Â
Any advice/feedback would be very much appreciated. Â Thank you!
Hi Alexmama,
Â
Are you here in the United States?  I would look at discount stores like Ross or Marshalls and see if they have a cute little pants suit for him, or trousers and a vest and tie.  That's usually what I put my son in for church and the like whne he was that age.  Usually the under three crowd can get away with a "little boy" look, but I would double check with Cunard just to be sure.  What you described would be fine for a toddler on any other cruise line, but I have not sailed Cunard, so I am not sure how big a stickler they are.  More than likely as long as he is not wearing basket ball shorts and a muscle shirt he'll be fine, but I would call customer service at Cunard just to be sure.
