MIAMI, Nov. 14 — Throughout the months of November and December, five Costa ships will set sail from Savona, Italy to bring la dolce vita of “Cruising Italian Style” to the Caribbean and South America for the 2006-2007 winter season. The first transatlantic cruise, aboard the Costa Magica, left November 2 and will arrive in Fort Lauderdale after a 17-night itinerary with stopovers in Spain, the Canary Islands, the Antilles, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. The Costa Mediterranea departs November 17 for Ft. Lauderdale on a 15-night itinerary and will also call on ports in Spain, the Canary Islands, the Antilles, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. Both ships will be based in Ft. Lauderdale through April. The Costa Atlantica, which is marketed exclusively to European customers, will depart December 3 on a 13-night itinerary calling in Spain, the Canary Islands, the Antilles and the Dominican Republic before arriving in Guadeloupe, its home port for the season. The ship will also offer 7-day sailings throughout the Caribbean. All three ships will feature at least one new route, including stops in such exclusive destinations as St. Bart’s; Roatan, Honduras; Grand Turk and Belize City.

Two additional Costa transatlantic cruises will depart in November en route for South America, where Costa is the region’s number one cruise line. The Costa Fortuna sets sail November 20 on a 17-night cruise to Santos, Brazil with stopovers in Spain, the Canary Islands and the Brazilian coast. This is the first season the Costa Fortuna will sail the region, increasing Costa’s cruise capacity by approximately 20% in South America. The Costa Romantica will depart on November 21 for Santos on a 17-night cruise that also includes stops in Spain, the Canary Islands and the Brazilian coast.

Savona will remain the home port for three Costa ships — the Costa Concordia, Costa Victoria and Costa Europa — throughout the winter season. These ships will offer 43 cruises as part of Costa’s “Mediterranean Value Voyage” collection, featuring savings of up to 45%. The collection includes 10- and 11-night cruises throughout Spain, Morocco, Portugal, the Canary Islands, Egypt, Cyprus and Greece.
