MIAMI, FL, Oct 10 – Costa, Europe and South America’s Number One Cruise Line, will redeploy the Costa Mediterranea for the 2008/2009 winter season. Rather than joining the Costa Fortuna, which will sail from Port Everglades to the Eastern and Western Caribbean, the Costa Mediterranea will be redeployed to a different key core market, allowing Costa to reinforce its strategic global positions. Specific details will be forthcoming. For the upcoming 2007/2008 winter season, the Costa Mediterranea will sail from Port Everglades along with the Costa Fortuna.
Costa will continue to feature spectacular voyages in the Caribbean, South America, Eastern Mediterranean, Western Mediterranean, Canary Islands, Dubai, Indian Ocean, and Far East during its winter season. From now through 2010, Costa will introduce three new ships to its current fleet of twelve. This growth will equate to 1.5 million guests by that same year, a record breaking number for the company. Along with this fleet expansion, Costa looks forward to welcoming back two ships to the Caribbean in 2009/2010.
