Hi Margaret,

You've asked some good questions. I have never done more than a two week voyage for which I packed two large suit cases per person. The cases usually will fit under the bed. On some lines the cabin stewards and store them.

P&0 offers free launderettes on all their ships as well as a full service laundry at prices similar to what hotels charge for full service laundry.

I will see if I can come up with some tips for extended voyage cruises and try to get it together in an article this week. My thought would be to pack about two to three weeks of clothes and then launder them myself or send them out depending on my budget.

As far as your excursions, you could either do some extensive research ahead of time or simply book as you go at the on board shore excursion office. I might choose the latter because of the length of the voyage I would want to pace myself and maybe decide what to do last minute. However, P&O's website has an extensive shore excursion section that would allow to pre-book atleast some of your excursions prior to your voyage.

Skagway Pilot,

It looks like it is part of a Grand Voyage type itenerary, so I believe it is a one time itinerary. It looks wonderful, if only I had the time and the money, a 72 day cruise would be heaven!
