Janeil, I would contact an international shipper like FedEx or UPS and see where they have an office located in Amsterdam. They could also quote you the estimated price of the shipping.

When we took our Transatlantic cruise ending in Ft. Lauderdale, I had our hotel shuttle take me to the FedEx/Kinko's office in Ft. Lauderdale, which was open on Sunday. I had bought a huge authentic Sevillian flamenco dress in Spain and we had several large glass pieces we won in the Hot Glass Show raffle. I was able to ship these items, along with some heavy coats and a few other souvenirs domestically for around $40. I'm sure it would be more to ship over seas, but if you ship surface, rather than air, I think the rates are reasonable.

Try giving the international shippers a call or visit their websites:

http://www.ups.com

http://www.fedex.com/nl_english/

With the above UPS website you can select Netherlands and English, and the Fedex site takes you to their Netherlands English site.

They do have some security requirements like valid Id and no Printer Cartridges, but luggage should be fine.

Our 2-week transatlantic cruise will be sailing mid-May, 2011. We leave the cruise to tour around Europe for another 2 weeks. We'd like to ship our cruise luggage home. (Our touring clothes will be very casual and few.) Is this cost prohibitive? What about the availability and safety of storage lockers? We arrive in Amsterdam and will fly home out of Brussels. Any suggestions?

Cruised last year with Princess and had a balcony for the first time. Found a brilliant product called a travel wrap. Made from cashmere. Great for snuggling up in whilst enjoying our balcony instead of the bath robes in the suite and still looks chic over evening wear if you fancy a stroll on deck prior to dinner. Easier than taking lots of different shrugs or jackets too. Lovely & feminine see more on their website.
