With the immense popularity of 2008’s first ever Nickelodeon Family Cruise, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line will be hosting two more Nickelodeon Themed Family Cruises. For the first time they will feature both a West Coast and East Cost cruise. The West Coast Cruise will sail from July 26-August 2, 2009 on a 7-night cruise through the Mexican Riviera on the Mariner of the Seas. The East Coast cruise will sail from August 9 – 16, 2009 on a
7-night voyage through the Eastern Caribbean on the Freedom of the Seas.
Both ships feature many family friendly activities like multiple pools, rock climbing walls, in line skating tracks, miniature golf, and even an ice rink. The Freedom of the Seas features the innovative flow rider surfing/boogie board simulator.
In addition to the regular Royal Caribbean cruise attractions, these voyage will feature special “Nick” themed activities. For more information you can visit the Royal Caribbean Nick Cruise Web Site.
This cruise offers the perfect opportunity for families who are fans of Nickelodeon to enjoy an out of the ordinary cruise. Royal Caribbean has long courted the family cruise market with both their advertising “Get Out There” campaign and their feature filled ships, but the addition of Nick Characters and Nick Themed activities directly competes with the Disney Cruise line experience in attracting families with young children. Many of the Nickelodeon shows are extremely popular with both pre-school and school age chidren, so the opportunity to meet Nick Characters, or participate in games like “Slime Time Live” is a dream come true for many young people. While I thing I still prefer a more traditional cruise, this is the perfect opportunity for families to come together for a week of fun and sun “Nick” style.
