Cleary was born in Carbonear, as this was/is the location of the area’s only hospital, but he was raised in a nearby town called Harbour Grace, in a section of the town called Riverhead. Carbonear is closer to St. Johns.

Corner Brook is located on the Bay of Islands at the mouth of the Humber River, the city is the largest population centre in the province outside the Avalon Peninsula and functions as a service centre for western and northern Newfoundland.

Navajo were never in this part of the world. The area was occupied by the Beothuk and the Mikmaw.
