Spirit of Nantuket Runs Aground

The Spirit of Nantucket, a small cruise ship owned by Cruise West has run aground off the coast of Virginia. The ship carries up to 102 passengers, serves Passengers have donned life jacket while they are waiting to be evacuated. The cruise ship was currently sailing it’s “Cradle of Colonial America” cruise that travels from Virginial to South Carolina with stops in Maryland and North Carolina. Reports say that crews are working to evacuated the passengers though the ship is not expected to sink.



UPDATE:
The captain intentionally ran the ship aground to keep it from sinking. Apparently the ship was taking on water for an unknown reason before the captain ran it aground. The crew and Cost Guard have now evacuated all passengers and everyone is safe.
